We hope you are keeping well during these challenging times. Please find below an update on the SeaSHeL Study.
Understandably the rate of recruitment to SeaSHeL has fallen owing to limited ENT departmental activity due to COVID-19, however it appears that departments are gradually moving towards resuming ‘normal’ activities.
We are really pleased that, despite the pressures of COVID-19, numerous sites have continued to upload new data and we thank you all for your continued engagement during these unprecedented times. We have now reached 112 patients which is a great milestone.
As departments now open their usual services, we hope to re-establish the levels of patient recruitment pre-COVID-19. For departments that are resuming their normal services, please do continue to recruit and follow up your patients as per the SeaSHeL protocol. Please make a note of any changes to normal procedures in the “Additional comments” free text box on REDCap e.g. telephone consultation.
Could all sites leads please let us know whether the SeaSHeL study has resumed at your site.
In terms of other updates, our website is in the final stages of development and the draft version can be viewed from this link http://www.seashel.co.uk/ . The website will contain important information and updates regarding the study, as well as providing access to relevant resources.
Our manuscript to the BMJ Open journal has been reviewed and is awaiting editorial decision.
